Sound issues, clicking & breaking up

I'm new to MJ and today started having sound quality issues. There is clicking on the line and basically sounds like poor reception on a cell phone. I searched for this problem and had 500 forums come up but after reading 10 or so and not seeing anything pertaining to it, I wanted to post a fresh question. If this has been addressed, please forgive me. I could use some help so I don't have to start paying for a hardline again.

Try to test your internet connection for VOIP call handling issue. Select test to Boston:

I had a similar problem when MJ was plugged into an older computer. It works well with a hyperthreaded Pentium 4 2.6 GHz with an 800 MHz FSB.
