It just hangs and never completes hooking up and uses nearly 100% CPU capacity. Varies 88% to99%.Have tried every workaround including formating the MJ. I run the same firewall and anti virus on both machines.
Any thoughts. Lee

I have the same problem. This desktop still has IE 6 and I was wondering if that was it because MJ won't initialize and on the left of the telephone screen, under black, I see "the page cannot be displayed even though it's got lots of memory and an over 2 Ghz processor. It's a 2 yr. old gaming computer so it can't be resources and it's got a high end graphics and sound card.

dcinelli, was wondering if you unplug all other usb devices and remove your graphics card it might help solve your problem,if it does then it could be that your power supply is maxed out or that it is to much for your mainboard to handle,I have noticed that MJ needs a lot of power to run smooth, good luck.
help! I am running out of USB ports!!!!!!!!
Tell me, Mr. Anderson... what good is a phone call... if you're unable to speak?

MSconfig and usb.
Not sure unplugging USB appliances will help, as I have a powered USB hub and it does the same thing hooked up there. Will try both suggestions and get back with results. Thanks for the responses. Lee
This is Donna. I didn't have the original problem, but just threw in my two cents.
I don't have a lot of USB things going. One printer? And I have a gaming computer with super heavy duty power supply with like 6 fans.
This is something else for me. Honestly, after thinking about it, stupid McAfee started an update which I quickly stopped and thought I turned off, but it might have screwed up the initial installation somehow. I found instructions on how to uninstall MJ online,
http://www.ooine.com/index.cfm/2008/3/1 ... Magic-Jack
and I'm going to do that and start all over again. Between this forum and the info I got from another on fixing the installation on my laptop, plus the info I got from MJ tech support -not that it helped, but it gave me file names, I think I can get it cleared out. If you check your registry, the files are under "talk4free", not magic jack.
If anyone is interested, I did copy and paste one of my chats with MJ tech support, but forgot to do another one. I'll post that chat here if anyone wants to see it.
