linux kernel setup

Post by sim »

Does anyone know what Linux Kernel settings I need to get it to recognize the MagicJack?
I downloaded tjinit from cuphone and it could tell the device was in the jack but wouldn't do anything.
I added USB Modem (CDC ACM) support and USB audio under ALSA

When I rebooted the tjinit just keeps scrolling the message:
Tjinit> Silicon is TJ560C
Tjinit> TigerJet USB Device 0xc31c ready to use
Tjinit> Slic key = On Hook
Tjinit> Slic key = On Hook
Tjinit> Slic key = On Hook
Tjinit> Slic key = On Hook
Tjinit> Slic key = On Hook
...

Any help is muchly appreciated.
I am using gentoo with a 2.6 kernel

I think the easiet way is to use a SIP adapter or just use windows. If you want you could install VMplayer in Linux. In my opinion its not worth waisting time on trying to get it to work on windows

That's certainly a valid opinion. I spent some time trying to get qemu with xp installed to access the Internet and it is such a pain and then you don't know if it will support your devices. I got the SIP settings working on a linux softphone already, now I'm just trying to get the hardware to work.

https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/usbb2k-api/ this may help

there is numerous names for the board that run this thing.. and they all seem to be connected

If there is allot of difference might only require some small changes

could start a whole new project

allot of these devices are connected some how..

sorta makes the inventor not look so inventive. I mean he did not invent sip, he did not make it better.. he is not the first usb phone device, asterisk or Linux really has nothing to do with him. Can you really call him genius for putting it all together. I mean how many voip providers on voip-info.org are there that resell services from a asterisk linux setup.. (A whole lot!)

maybe selling it so cheap.

I couldn't get it working in QEMU because it doesn't support usb hubs. I also couldn't get it to work using wine.
lsusb does show the correct information.

Anybody gotten this to work on Linux any which way?
