AT&T uverse blocks MJ

I changed from Comcast to ATT now MJ does not work, they want me to add add phone service to make it happen.

1. looking for a workaround, in settings.
2. purchase my own wifi router and plug the mj into it.

I want to ask what which is the best wifi router available in the market? I have tried some of the cheap routers but they all have very small life.

I had a similar problem with another device (not MJ) and my solution was to purchase an old B/G spec router and plug that into the router from the ISP and connect the device to the B/G spec router. I found the router on eBay for about $6 and it worked perfectly; problem solved. As they say, your results may vary.

The used router I bought for $6 was about 8 years old. If it still worked at that age, it is likely to keep working and it has.

MJ is likely blocked because the ISP wants you to purchase phone service from them.

As I stated previously, try a cheap old router connected to the ISP provided router.
