In case anyone is interested, I logged into my.magicjack.com today and the 4 year upgrade for $50 is now available. I went ahead and upgraded and either it will be a good investment or a loss. I don't play the lottery anymore, so this will be my scratch off ticket
Just for clarification, this is for existing magicjack subscriptions. This will extend your current contract by 4 years for a single charge of $50. This averages out to $12.50/yr or $1.04/mo for those additional 4 years.
If you haven't signed up for magicjack yet, I believe there is an option for this as well during signup.

I would like to extend my service by 4 years, but the web page to do so isn't secure. I don't want to enter my CC info on an unencrypted page. Anyone else notice this? Any Solutions?
The site does have an SSL cert, so when the form pops up, change http: to https: and press enter. You'll get a cert error; proceed past that and the page will appear. I don't believe that the self-signed cert poses an issue -- you can see that the IP is registered to YMAX. http://whois.domaintools.com/67.90.152.80 .
Of course, I can't guarantee that they will treat your CC data securely once they get it

Some users on here said that they were charged twice... You dont get that problem with the visa gift card.
Another way to protect your CC# is to do what I did, use PayPal to generate a secure card, it's a virtual credit card, you can make it a multiple use or a one use card, and you can cancel the card after the transaction has cleared. I did that because of Magic Jack's order page is not encrypted and I was not about to enter my credit card or bank card number there.
I dunno. Based on the inconsistency of MJ I'm not sure I'll still want it 3 or 4 years from now. Perhaps $20/yr might actually be cheaper if I abandon ship!

well, i was never notified ...
So, if we want the offer bad enough, if someone will post the presidents email again I say we MASS email the president to put the offer back up and notify all MJ users!
putting it up for a day then adding 10.00 is crap!

Hey, it was up for a few weeks or so, at the http://my.magicjack.com/ , the great 4 years deal for $49.95 and I jumped on that renewal offer right away I figured that was a sweet deal, so I really expected the higher price $59.95 to now show up.
I think I would rather just pay the 20 dollars per year.
What If magicjack goes outta business?
What if I lost my magicjack?
What if it stoped working properly?
etc.
Maybe if magicjack comes out with better customer service and warranty.
Or atleast let you buy a replacement jack at a reduced price and transfer the old number and 4 years to the new magicjack.

Another thing to consider is if they keep the $20/year pricing structure as they could raise it at anytime. They could easily do $29 or $39 a year and still get a ton of people to pay it since its cheaper than the alternatives.
I figure if they stay in business for at least 2.5 years of my extra 4 years I paid, then I will break even (2.5 X $20 = $50)

You're having a fit, wanting to flood the founder's email inbox over $2.50 per year? 21 cents per month?
Paying $1.25 per month (instead of the normal $1.66 per month), you're upset that it isn't $1.04 per month?
If you put that $60 into www.wamu.com at 3% APY for 4 years you'll earn $7.63. That doesn't compare to the $19.68 return you get from MJ (for giving them the same amount of money for the same period).
Sometimes I really don't understand MJ users.

That was my reasoning as well. I've considered buying another 4 to 12 years. It's not a lot of money to risk relative to the potential return.
But, I've read stories of people who's MJ device broke. When they replaced it they lost all their prepaid time. They were told by tech support (script readers) that there was no way to transfer it.
Tech support could be wrong. But, I really don't want that headache. If I had to go through that kind of fight 3-4 times over 12 years, it wouldn't be worth the effort. It gets back to my previous post about 20 cents per month just not being worth a lot of aggravation.
Besides finding the 'special offer' of $59.95 for 4 years on my MJ account, I also see "If you received a redemption code for additional years..." Anyone know how one goes about getting one of these redemption codes?

Not sure what you're asking. If you paid for 4 extra years when purchasing your MJ, you should have received a redemption code at that time. If you didn't, you should contact dead chat support via the MJ web site.
If you want to purchase 4 extra years, you can go to my.magicjack.com and click on "extend your license."
