MJ Won't Install
I have tried everything, mjfix( I get all green check marks), upgrade.exe, mjrecover_setup.exe, anti-virus off, firewall off, powered usb hub, different usb ports. yes the blue light works. It's not my internet connection as my second computer which uses the same network and can run MJ. The only difference is on the computer it won't install on, has XPSP2 and the one it does install on has Vista. Every time I try to install MJ on my XP computer the new hardware wizard pops up asking for the installation cd. Yes I have administrator rights Any ideas?
If it's asking for the Win XP disk, there are some drivers (from Microsoft, but possibly not in your installation) that do need to be installed. If there is an i386 folder somewhere on your system, try pointing the wizard at that. Or, if you have an XP disk, try inserting it.
If it's asking for the device installation disk, what happens when you select 'install automatically'?

It's not asking for XP disk, it's asking for the installation CD that came with the device, when I select install automactically it says it cant find the necessay software.Stewart wrote:If it's asking for the Win XP disk, there are some drivers (from Microsoft, but possibly not in your installation) that do need to be installed. Only one device shows up that I can tell and that is "USB Internet Phone by TigerJet" and thats the one which has a problem.Stewart wrote:What device is it complaining about? Which devices, if any, show problems in Device Manager? Which are present and ok (MJ installs a pseudo CD-ROM, a USB disk drive, a USB sound card, and a Human Interface device)?

For some reason I get no option to check from the internet for an updated driver, thanks for the help but this isn't worth all the grief, I'm just going to upgradeto to vista, then I will be also able to use my 4mb flash drive which will work on visat but not xp.HendersonMike wrote:While still in device manager, right click on that tigerjet and select update driver - then connect to internet then install automatically. I was going thru device manager this morning and hitting them all up for updates and tigerjet was one that did have an update to it.
