gismo5 in majic jack

Post by yves »

Hi!
In Canada we don't have area code available for Magic jack. With gizmo5 we have it.
Do you think i can insert the gizmo telephone number into the magic jack and use it normally?

No. they use independent sip servers. probably better off spoofing your outbound # to match your gizmo #.

Take a look at the following thread! Spoofing and Call Blocking . You may also want to try the search function at the top of the forum page here and search on spoofing.

If you want to use MJ hardware with Gizmo5, you should be able to select the TJ device in the Gizmo5 softphone, and use your phone for talking and listening. However, you would still need to use the softphone for dialing, answering, and hanging up.

Some users have successfully configured SJphone to work with the MJ hardware, which allows you to control everything from your phone. You would then enter your Gizmo5 credentials and could call from and answer your Gizmo5 number.

In either of the above cases, you would be using the MJ hardware, but not the MJ account. It would be interesting if you could configure SJphone with two accounts, so you could call out on your MJ account (free) and receive calls from Gizmo5.
