MJ delays boot up

Post by pmdelage »

MJ works fine once it is ready to go. However, everytime I boot up MJ takes over and wastes several minutes while it appears to be reinstalling itself. How to eliminate this would be welcomed. Thanks, PMD

Set a shortcut to magicjack.exe with a Target like

Code: Select all

"C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\mjusbsp\magicJack.exe" /scf _magicJackPersonalDataRoot "F:\magicJack"
Start in should be like

Code: Select all

"C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\mjusbsp"
Substitute your actual user name for yourusername and the drive letter for MJ's USB drive (not the pseudo CD-ROM) for F:

Test this by killing MJ with Task Manager and then starting it by double-clicking the shortcut. When you have that working, disable the (slow) automatic startup by running msconfig, startup tab and unchecking the box for cdloader2. Also, disable autorun for the MJ pseudo CD-ROM.

Reboot, MJ should not start automatically, but you should be able to start it from the shortcut. You can put the shortcut in your startup folder if auto startup is desired.

Personally, I just unplug it when I don't want to use it, I plug it in when I want to use it, no more slow bootup on my computer, I do use the kill app I got from here, thanks!!!!!! Or I just unplug it, that kills it too.
