AutoRun problem

Post by GaryPSU »

Plugging in the MagicJack doesn't run autorun.exe. I must run it from windows explorer. What must I change to fix this?

GaryPSU,

What OS are you using?

I have seen or more like read some post where people got it to work and it works fine on my XP and XPe machines but I could never get it to work on Vista. Believe me I tried, but as usual Vista beat my best attempts to get Autostart to work. So I changed my philosophy and claimed I preferred it that way. The rational was it is now like other programs on my machine and it only starts when I want it to. There are a lot of times I turn my machine on for things other than MJ so why have it slow my boot process down when I don't need it.

Sounds pretty good doesn't it?

I have XP basic with SP2. I think that I may have changed a setting a long time ago to not have CDs autorun. MagicJack is likely treated as a CD. Maybe I have to find the setting - using tweak or something. I'm not at home now.
