Ports Blocked at work?

Post by mjsbz »

Hello.

I've been able to use my MJ just about everywhere. I took it to work the other day and I get the message that I'm not connected to the internet. I believe that my work doesn't seem to be permitted port 5060/5070 traffic. I'm not sure if I can do anything to make it work, but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Most work places have firewall, proxy server to filter internet traffic so it's likely SIP ports are blocked. I wouldn't recommend trying to go around the firewall/proxy unless you want to get fired

mjsbz,

You could just ask your IT manager to give you special privileges thru their firewall. Myself I hate be laughed at so I probably wouldn't follow my own suggestions in this case.

You could try back-dooring their security protocol, That is if you like a lot of company in your cubicle in less than five minutes after your first attempt, one of which will be a company guard with and empty cardboard box to put your personal possessions in prior to escorting you to the front door.

They usually mail you final paycheck to your house so you won't have to worry about that.
