After reading about MJ I figured I'd run into some issues, but I have to say this is one the biggest headaches to save some cash. So, after installing the unit it worked fine for about 2 hours. I decided to shut down the PC and turned it back on later. Now I have two issues, MJ doesn't want to work "easily" (I have to constantly plug and remove MJ to spoon-feed windows to allowing it to run) and now Windows Restore will not work either. I care more about Windows Restore than MJ at this point (I'm at the point of returning it and looking into Skype or other alternatives). But something MJ did to my system, windows did not like. When I try to restore to 2 days before MJ, windows go through the restore process, but in the end I get a message that Windows cannot be returned. I tried other restore points as well with no luck. I tried deleting the folder in the application data that containes MJ, but still had the same results.
For the 2 hours of playing with it, I liked the Outlook option and the sound quality was good. I don't blame MJ but when I called my cell to MJ it only displayed my phone # and not my name, I tried 3 different phones with address book features.
Has anyone noticed issues with Windows System Restore since installing MJ? Does anyone know how I can fix this on my Windows XP SP2 PC? If I can get restore to work again, I then will look into trying to fix MJ permanently so I can keep it (otherwise, I'll have to send it back and look elsewhere - Anyone have positive results with Skype or other similar alternatives)? I need to be able to both make and receive calls using a telephone, which is why I decided to give MJ a chance to prove itself.
Thanks for your help. I know I can always reformat and install everything all over again, but that's my LAST option.
UPDATED: Running Windows System Restore in "SAFE MODE" did the trick.
