My result & Recommendation is below. (My problem:BIG time Garble/Jittery)
I don't know where to go to adjust my SIP port.
I have basic wired Linksys router BEFSX41
If I have firewall in my XP, I know nothing about it.
I really want this MJ to work.
Oh, should I put it on my VISTA computer? Will I keep my phone number or will it give me another one when I install to VISTA?
Sorry for the basic simple questions.

The test agent could not connect to San Jose using the standard SIP port (5060), but was able to connect and run a test to another location via an alternate port (6000). This indicates that one of the following may be true:
Tested: 4.2
* If you have a VoIP Service, your VoIP/Phone Adaptor may have reserved the standard SIP port and is filtering out our SIP packets. Consider temporarily removing the Adaptor from your configuration and re-running the test.
* Your Personal Firewall, if you are using Windows XP, may be filtering the SIP port used for communication.
* Either your home firewall or your broadband provider's firewall is blocking the SIP port used for communication.
I tested my VoIP - Where is my SIP port???

Vista - What are you running it on now and why do you want to change? Yes you will keep your same phone number from now until you change it on your personal MagicJack Page.deltona_fl wrote:My result & Recommendation is below. (My problem:BIG time Garble/Jittery)

Port & firewall,
Lets start with what anti-virus are you using on your computer? With that information we can locate some of your potential problems.
As far as port 5060 being in use if your ran the test with MJ plugged in it probably owned the port remove MJ reboot and try the test again 4.2 if a pretty damn good score.
SIP , I don't know if your router has a SIP channel or not. If it does try turning it off if it is on and vise versa. Check for sound quality changes. Also make sure that Plug-n-Play in your router and computer are both turned on.
That's enough for now or at least until you post some of the information I asked for, other that come along will want to know the same things.
PS - if you are on XP now I would stay there at least until you get your bugs worked out. It will work on Vista but IMHO everything will be harder to trouble shoot on Vista. But hey what do I know.
