How do I power down hardrive on Vista with MJ running?

Post by chelseacraft »

On the MagicJack website it says that you can power down the monitor & the hardrive to save on power. Is this just a big lie? I am running Vista & have selected the equivalent option to Always On in XP which is called High Performance. I've gone to advanced settings & disabled sleep & made sure hibernation is disabled (it is disabled by default in Vista). I've selected to turn off hardisk after 20 mins. On the USB settings I have the selective suspend enabled but I tried it disabled too with no luck. Although all my programs will stay running on the screen & working, my USB port gets shut off & MJ of course doesn't work then.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or is that part of the MJ knowledgebase just telling customers anything they want to hear to sell the product?

Thanks,
Chelsea
