I have not downloaded or instulled this update. Look at the date "2001" last puglished in "2006".

Why wouldn't this be in the MJ that I just got?????
Should I instull this update to my system?????

I seen that TigerJet update a few weeks ago and ignored it till I researched a little and found that I may/may not need it, so I downloaded it and have had no repercussions ........ so far.

It's standard practice for hardware makers to submit their drivers to be included in the Windows' built-in driver database. You can safely download any driver update from MS Update service and it will update your PC with the latest driver if it found that the previously installed driver was older.

I have

Post by teyong »

I have had my MJ less than 30 days and have updated from the MJ web site. My question was why is microsoft finding a "newer" update. As one post that had no trouble with the download from microsoft; that is why I asked the questiion on this "one great site" to see how others have done and found to help with my MJ. I will try later to update from MJ and see if microsoft says I still need it.

Thanks to all who have the time to help.

The updates you have downloaded directly from MJ might be newer firmware for the MJ device, newer MJ softphone updates but might not have the newer hardware drivers for the MJ device. MS Update service only provides driver update and not firmware nor application updates.

MJ device (hardware) may need the following drivers:
- HID driver
- USB Audio driver
- USB Storage driver
- USB device driver

Microsoft driver updates are always barebones and outdated. The manufacturer always has the best drivers

Anyone know if you can get the lastet "Tigerjet USB" Audio drivers from the Tigerjet site (instead of MS site)?

Which Tigerjet download file contains these drivers? Thanks in advance.

Not to mention that everyone I've ever downloaded from the update site had been bug-ridden and unstable. A video driver update I got once even trashed windows! Luckily, I was able to shovel out that dung heap in safe mode. After that, I'd vowed never again!

Cuse me....they are MICROSOFT, OK? For XP alone... three service packs, each comprising a gazillion hotfixes... and into NUMBER FOUR. They have whole CREW just addressing hotfix installation hell. We must never pray to False Gods and Monopolists posing as those.

U think that they have a MOAT around company headquarters is cause they like water?

TigerJet drivers

Post by findapenny »

MagicJack can't give you those drivers because they're for TigerJet phones...but they improved the heck out of MJ for me so I'd say do it. The TigerJet site has a note that since Microsoft now has the drivers, they're no longer going to be posted on the TJ site. I've seen them in other places but you need a different driver for AMD chips, so who knows what else is different. If they don't show up in Microsoft Update for you, try going to Device Manager and right-clicking on the USB entry for MJ (all of 'em, if you don't know which it is) and update the driver.
