Comcast Voice to Home MagicJack All circuits Down?
Inlaws calling me are getting all circuits are Down from there Comcast Voice line to our MJ Home.Calls are coming in from PA to my DE MJ home? Also after investigating this further Comcast told my Inlaws that they were not compatable with MagicJack and that was that? Is Comcast Blocking MJ? Is anyone else having these issues? tHANKS

i dont know if comcast is blocking magicjack
but you could try tollfreeforwarding.com
you can get a toll free number from them instantly online for a 10day trial and only 10 a month after that,
try it for a day or two and see if they get threw when your using it,
the plus of going toll free, anyone can call you for free... plus it would get around any blocking by tellco's
if comcast is, then others may follow, VOIP is running those old telco's out of busness

Re: Comcast Voice to Home MagicJack All circuits busy?
Are you sure about this?smaerd58 wrote:Inlaws calling me are getting all circuits are busy from there Comcast Voice line to our MJ Home.Calls are coming in from PA to my DE MJ home? I had comcast voice, ordered and installed magicjack, did test calls with comcast voice and had no problems, cancelled my comcast voice once i knew magicjack was good enough for my home phone.

I called comcast just cause i have plenty of free time hehe... they told me that comcast voice can call any voip service including magicjack... there is no restriction so it is kinda funny.smaerd58 wrote:It's a strange situation. I can call them from MJ to comcast and they can Rec. my call and quality is ok. But they can't call me directly because it says either circuits are down or busy? But Comcast told them directly that they are not compatable with MJ and have issues? Thanks

Almost impossible to know what's going on because too often someone who has no clue what they're talking about will offer any explanation they think might be true. I'm referring to whoever was representing Comcast; sometimes it's useful to consider the pay scale of the person to whom you're speaking.
I'm guessing maybe there is a temporary switching problem between your inlaws and your MJ number that will go away. I only say that 'cause I've had this problem with a conventional phone line in the past, as I'm sure most folks have at one time or another.
Other than having them wait, you might have them call from a different phone number to see what happens. (These are just random thoughts and not to be of much real help.)

I thought Ok maybe it's on my side.Uninstalled Anti,Firewall, etc. to see if they were getting blocked on my end. That didn't work so called Comcast went from one tech to others and actualy came across one that was familiar with MJ He gave me his MJ number and had the inlaws try that..... No good so the repair ticket has now gone to there national level tech? Ill keep people informed on progress this one blows me away.Wife almost had me going back to landline.. Glad I didn't go there. Thanks
My sister has Comcast voice and she can't call my MJ either. I also know that certain friends have Cavalier and their call will not go through also.smaerd58 wrote:It gets even better. comcast using muscle
I have the problem too. I have comcast $42 per month service and I am trying to replace it with MagicJack $20 A YEAR. When I use my (soon to be gone) Comcast line to call MJ it says "all circuits are busy". but my MJ phone can call my (soon to be gone) Comcast without issue. I suspect Comcast IS BLOCKING THE CALLS FROM MAGICJACK TO THEIR VOIP LINES! any lawyers in thois forum??????
Re: comcast using muscle
It is quite common for customers of one carrier to be unable to call customers of another carrier, because the originating carrier's data base is not up to date. If you call Comcast and complain that you cannot reach a certain number, they will probably get it fixed within a day or two. While it's possible that they are being intentionally lax, that would be very hard to prove.fastturb wrote:When I use my (soon to be gone) Comcast line to call MJ it says "all circuits are busy". but my MJ phone can call my (soon to be gone) Comcast without issue.
