SCREECH...SCREECH...AND MORE SCREECH.

Post by sligg »

A short, high pitched burst of sound during a call.

This problem has been discussed before.

On my MJ this problem has persisted for almost one year. There tech chat has no clue. Has anyone still have this problem and has a solution been found.

I never had this problem with other VOIP I've used, so this has to be an MJ issue.

A DTMF tone, or some other sound?
Does the MJ user hear it, the other party, or both?
Under what circumstances does it happen?
About how many times per hour of calling?
Using phone connected to MJ, computer headset, some other connection?

There is a known issue where the mediocre DTMF detector in the MJ will sometimes falsely believe that the MJ user's speech is a DTMF tone, and it sends a real DTMF tone to the remote end. If your issue is different from that, IMO it's something new.

Yes, I have had that screech in my ear as well. It happened when I first installed MJ about two months ago. I was troubelshooting with a chat operator about why I couldn't receive calls. The operator called my MJ number, it rang, and I heard this awful screech as if someone on the line was being beheaded. Sure startled me! It happened just that one time. A short time later MJ started working properly and has been since. I haven't heard the screech since.
