Ooma Hub - Voip phone device?

Post by Steve20r »

I just got an email from Amazon.com about this product called the Ooma Hub, from first glance it appears to be like the Magic Jack. Was wondering if anyone on here had checked it out and how it compared against the MJ.

Wow! The price! Looks like a technology clone, but the advantage is it appears to be a standalone device. Still, you can buy ten MJ's for that price.
Windows Vista and Laptop with XP SP2 on the road. Occasionally, a Mac if my Windows machine isn't working.

Their International rate is really bad. 0.029 for land line to Taiwan and 0.099 for cell phone call,,,, No Deal!

MJ is the best.

I'm not convinced:

Yahoo! Voice http://voice.yahoo.com/phone_rates.php Taiwan landline, 0.015; mobile, 0.089. Excellent quality. Works with free softphone and with SPA2102.
Future Nine http://future-nine.com/A2BCustomer_UI/rates.php Taiwan landline, 0.013; mobile 0.061. Have not tried, but highly reviewed. Works with any softphone, ATA, IP phone, etc.

I see. Thanks for your input and information. I will look into it. So far, I am using VOIPVOIP for 1.9 and Nonoh FREE to call Taiwan. Do you call Taiwan very often?

If I could get a good enough rate, I might have to make a friend over there. You never know about things like that.
