Just got my MJ today and trying to set it up, but was unsuccessful. When plug it in my USB it stars with Download in progress please do not unplug. Then it shows magicJack cannot access the Internet. Please click her to start magicFix.
I have full access to the internet and had ran magicfix with no problem.
Anyone had the same problem?

mine, too..
Got my first magic jacks today..tried to initialize, got the same thing...Now my password wont work, even the one they remailed me...Magicfix says my OS is compatible..(Windows 2000sp4)..but when it finishes, says the OS is not supported, and stops downloading...I know others have made magickjack work on win 2K...If I take them to work, set them up on a XP computer, then bring them back, would that help?..I bought the 5 years thinking these would be useful...
there are lots of things that could potentually cause this problem
Try 1st Disabling any and all firewalls(including the one in your router, if you can)
and try again
also make sure your proxie server is not listed in your host. file (if you havnt edited it, or used the new spoofer program you
dont have to worry about this)
other thoughts
Try from a diffrent PC(using the same internet provider), if it doesnt work there eather your ISP might be blocking one of the
ports requried to connect, if it doesnt work try a diffrent ISP
Also If you use DSL(or Cable) .. try bypassing the router, if you use one .. for DSL try RASPPPOE or the built in connection client in windows
hope this helps

MagicJack is incompatable for whatever reason, but if you can locate your SIP credentials(which i cant seem to figure out), you can use an alternive softphone that supports W2k, i have seen posts hypothizing and giving examples of how you might get magicjack to work in w2k but i havnt seen anyone post that they have any success
