I called their tech support (?) and they told me it is probably my cordless phone. I heard someone say to get a powered usb port? What the heck is that?I can't be understood on the other end, though I can hear the person I called fine. I am running on a wifi with a router....could the satelitte connection be causing the problem? I'm using the wildblue satellite system....................Whaz up?!!

While this forum seems to contain a lot of problems with Magic Jack; most have to do with sound. Each fix maybe different due to different computer set up and hardware. Read the post on the first page on your screen and see by trying some of the fixes works for you.
If not post back with the equipment you have and the problems you are having.

Thanks for the reply, but I can't find where you asked me to go in the response you gave me above.......All my response showed was my inquiry, and your reply. Could you send me the link where the fixes are ?
MUCH appreciated, Peter

OK if you have a reasonable new computer you probably don't need a Powered USB HUB. Along with new it can also depend on the price range of the computer as to whether or not you have good powered USB ports on your computer.
1. A Powered USB hub is just a method of adding additional USB ports to your computer, the Powered portion of the statement essentially mean the hub is capable of supplying 5 Volts at 0.5 amps to each device you have connected to it. A good one will probably cost you about $30 rupees so you might want to consider some other possible solution before running over to best buy - although it is not too difficult to get them to take it back should it not solve the problem.
2. Satellite Broad Band, you might want to take a trip over to DSLreports.com, see if you can't find an answer there (they have forums for both "Satellite" and Voip". It is my understanding that VOIP does not play well with satellite communications because of the insidiously long delays. One other thing I have noticed about MagicJack is it likes to have a continuous un-interrupted 80 kHz stream to the MagicJack servers. This is something that most Satellite transponders don't like to do.
3. I would suggest (and yes I know it is a pain in the arse) but I would take my system over to a friends house that has Cable, or DSL (or if they are a really lucky friend a fiber connection to the INTERNET). give the system a try and see how it performs on a more conventional Broad Band connection. If it works well you can feel pretty confident that it just does not play well with satellite.
PS - there are a lot of very experienced Satellite Broad Band users at DLSreports. You should be able to get an answer from someone that has or still uses Satellite and what they can and can't run.
Lets us know what you find, then the next person with your problem wont have to chase halfway across the Galaxy.

Well, it all winds down to the very fine print in the magic jack disclaimer"Magic Jack does not facilitate satellite hook ups."
Seems the delay in our isp WildBlue satellite upload/download is too weak/sporadic.....$#%@&!(*)...............ya pays yur money, ya takes yur chances...........
