Disconnections & Upgrades

I have had my MagicJack a couple of weeks now, using 4.0 Beta. I have experienced a few disconnections, is this due to automatic upgrades going on or do I have something misconfigured ? Whenever I run the optizizer, it all comes up fine except the last item for network servers, which seems to keep churning, is this normal ?

What kind of router, if any, do you have? Are you connecting wirelessly from the PC with MJ? If so, that's the likely cause, especially if you are using a 2.4 GHz cordless phone.

If that is not your issue, open a command prompt and do a

Code: Select all

ping -t yahoo.com
then make your call. When a call gets dropped, see if the ping shows several 'request timed out' or some other error. If the ping has no trouble, try to find out what is going wrong when a call drops, e.g. do you lose audio in just one direction? Does the softphone show an error?
