Using Vista SP1
I would like to inform you that I currently use Vista SP1 and have tested XP SP3 and have encountered no issues pertaining to or with the magicJack. It works just as it did without the SP. What I do think is a fault in their part is the mistake on the "Advertisement", it clearly says Service Pack 2... Typo, or ignorance?

Call me a cynic, but this looks like someone is either spoofing the MagicJack site, or has hacked the magicjack server that serves their adds.
There is no Vista Serviec Pack 2 (I do not think that is a typo), and if they really meant Service Pack 1, it is not in Beta, and has not been for about two months or more. The same is true for XP Service Pack 3, although it has only been about 4 weeks or so.
The other issue that has me suspicious is the message about "...may cause issues with several applications on your computer..." is too vague for even the MagicJack folks to use. There is no warning about issues with MagicJack, and if you read this forum, while not perfect, most people running SP3 on XP or SP1 on Vista are running MagicJack as well. Some people are having issues, but some people are having issues without the service packs as well.
Just my opinion. It seems to have disappeared from my softphone ad window as of the time of the posting.

Here's my post from another forum:
Receiving
My phone won't ring, but I can answer it if I see the call on the computer screen by clicking accept and then turning on the cordless. If I turn on the cordless first, I hear ringing in the earpiece.
Dialing
I have a dial tone and dialing makes it stop, but no response on the screen, and no outgoing call. If I dial on the computer, then turn on the phone, I can use the phone...
I have the same problem. It took 20 minutes of chat "troubleshooting" that I had already done before I was told I needed to try another phone (I don't have another phone, AND this one worked last week on this computer and a Vista computer). I just happened to bring up that I have XP SP3. She then told me that I should downgrade my system, and even provided me with the link to upgrade to SP2. I said wouldn't it make more sense to upgrade the magicjack software then to ask users to downgrade their systems. She said, "either way." WTF?!mutedmajority wrote:I installed Service pack 3. which is when MJ stopped working correctly. It still doesn't work after removing SP3. Telephone does not dial out. (won't break the dial tone) If I push just one key on the soft phone, it will dial and the telephone keypad starts working. Now the chat advised me to buy an AC powered USB hub. I also found out that there is no warranty whatsoever after the 30 days free trial period. I have even tried it on another computer that had never had Magic jack installed on it nor sp3. But maybe SP3 messed the software on the device up? I got a lemon! Mine came to cost me 20 a month for crappy phone service. Thanks anyway I am not buying another one! I was their biggest booster. Heck anyways I can still use the softphone. As if I want to. They got my area code listed the same day it quit . Fuckers!

I just wanted to say that I have two computers. I guess you would say that my main computer is a desktop. That is the computer that I have mj hooked into. This computer has xp and sp3 installed on it and I have had no problems with it. My other computer is a laptop and it has Vista on it. I have run mj from that computer also. Again I have had no problems. With the laptop I do go to their web site and installed their Vista drivers.
