Email confirmation?
OK, got the MagicJack thingy in the mail today. Plugged it in. After a very little minor tweaking (volume, "microdropouts"), it works fine.
While installing/registering the MJ, I got a notice that "you'll get an email which you must respond to within 24 hours, or your voice mail service will be terminated." At least that's what I think it said. I didn't pay too much attention, to be honest -- I just assumed that when the email arrived, it would be one of those "click this link to confirm" deals, I'd click the link, and that would be that.
Well, it's now six hours since I installed the thing, and no confirmation email yet. I did try out the voice mail system, and the messages were duly forwarded to me as email attachments, so I know MJ's got the right address on file for me. But still no email like what was described during the registration. (And yes, I checked the junk mail folder.)
The delay itself doesn't worry me -- when I ordered the MJ, it took several hours for the email confirming the order to be sent. It's the idea that I might lose my voice mail if I don't respond in the next 18 hours to this email I haven't received yet.
So, has anyone else run into this issue? Is there anything I need to do right now, or early tomorrow AM? Thanks
Phil

You might want to go to http://my.magicjack.com just to make sure you're registered and can make changes to call forwarding, etc.
I never received a confirmation email on either of my MagicJacks and everything still works (knock on wood).

How do you get registered before you receive your MJ?Darkman90808 wrote:You might want to go to http://my.magicjack.com just to make sure you're registered and can make changes to call forwarding, etc.

Thanks for the reassurance
OK, sounds like this is nothing to worry about.

I tried that, and everything works; if I can still do that tomorrow I'll consider this a non-issue. Thanks again,Darkman90808 wrote:You might want to go to http://my.magicjack.com just to make sure you're registered and can make changes to call forwarding, etc.

I got my email confirmation today and they added a second MJ c/w shipping and charged it all to my card already.
So far, interactions with them have been unproductive. Oh well I guess I can cancel the whole thing and get the charge reversed by my bank.
Not a good start on this journey.

After 2 tennis vollies, they confirmed half my request. They are only shipping one MJ. They were silent on the other part, please issue a credit for that one that was cancelled. It is unlcear. They say I have a 30-day trial yet the ordering process says it is not available in Canada. We will see.HolmanGT wrote:Nah - tell me your kidding.
