Windows automatic updates hint

My MagicJack has been working flawlessly for eight weeks now, until this morning. No fault of MJ and I won't blame Microsoft for my mistakes. It never occurred to me that the automatic updates that I had permitted would affect my MJ, but after my conversation was rudely interrupted by the auto-install I promptly changed the Windows Update settings in the Control Panel from "Install Updates Automatically" to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". I hope this keeps someone else from making the same mistake I made.
