My computer fax won't ring in

I use Microsoft Fax Console to send and receive faxes. It has been working fine with a regular POTS line plugged into the voice/fax modem. I want to use the MJ number to send/receive the faxes so I plugged the cord from MJ to the modem but the modem is not sensing the ringing current or registering the incoming call. I'm able to make outside calls using MJ dialtone from Microsoft Hyper Terminal but I don't see incoming calls.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
