GrandCentral Voicemail with magicJack
I have noticed that when people call using my GrandCentral number my MJ voicemail never picks up, only GrandCentral's voicemail. Also GrandCentral's voicemail picks up after 6 rings. Has anyone else noticed this?
Let me rephrase the post. The phone will ring 6 times!
I have had my GrandCentral number since I've gotten my MJ, around August of last year.
When someone calls my MJ number it rings 4 times then it goes to the MJ voicemail. When someone calls using my GrandCentral number, it rings the phone 6 times and then rolls over to the GrandCentral voicemail. This never has happened before but on the last update something changed.

So you want your GC number to pick after x number of rings instead of six?
Is that what you're asking?
If so I have a GC account but don't know how to go about that. Would recommend asking on the GC forum though - you'll get a quicker and probably correct response.

Morpheus: What is "coming soon"? How do you define "coming soon"?

Let me try to make it a lot easier to understand.
1. When some calls using my GC number my MJ attached phone rings 6 times then it goes to the GC Voicemail.
2. When someone calls my MJ number my MJ attached phone rings 4 times then goes to the MJ Voicemail.
I don't care, I think I'm the only one this is happening to and I like the extra 2 rings to catch the phone.
UPDATE:
The latest upgrade broke the extra 2 rings I was getting from GC (6 rings on my attached phone!). Now GC acts like it should, it will ring my MJ 4 times like it use to.

I understood your post perfectly, and amen on the 'bummer'! I'm trying to find a way to use MJ and yet not have to use their built-in VM. Your post got my hopes up! lolrbelk wrote:Let me try to make it a lot easier to understand.

Biscuit,
I use my phones Voice Mail and I have it set to pick up after four rings.
Apparently MJ picks up just prior the the fifth ring so setting my Panasonic DECT 6 to pick up after four rings just beats MJ to the punch. I am a happy camper.
The big unkown is that it may be peculiar to the MJ server I go thru, don't have a clue on that but you could try it and who knows maybe the Gods will smile on you too.
Regards,
PS - If four rings is a little short for you and sometimes I don't get to mine in time but the Panasonic instantly dumps what it is doing if you pick up late so you can still catch the call or just us it to filter your calls. Sneaky but handy as hell at times.
