Ordered from website 5-28-08
Rec'd in mailbox 6-4-08
Plugged into USB port on Dell w/1gig RAM, XP Pro, buncha crap including MSN, Y! and AIM
Devices loaded, no prob.. autorun didn't run, so I went to the folder and ran it..
Wizard started, did all the stuff for 911, picked an area code, mine in NC isn't available yet, so I started to get the 666 out of ATL, but decided against it... picked one kinda close just for convenience..
MJ said "Ok"
Connected MJ to a Uniden 2.4ghz cordless phone
Made a test call to my cell, worked great..
Made a test call to my mother.. a little skippy, but I'd not rebooted so that doesn't surprise me and it didn't interfere at all with the conversation. she said it sounded a touch static-y, but better than my BellSouth line. .(lol)
Made another test call to my Bellsouth home # with caller ID, got my phone # off of that
Made a test call back to the # MJ supplied, and the phone rang.. answered the call perfect.
Called my # and set up voice mail, no problems.
From the time I got it out of the mail box to the time I finished messing with the set up and test calls? About 30 minutes.
Now.. whenever they get the 828 Area Code in NC and I can get Charter Internet, Bellsouth can kiss my A$$!!

When I got mine, I didn't even read what was written on the box. Just plugged it into one of my usb ports, waited for it to self install it's software, plugged in my phone, and I was in business within about 10 min.
Voice mail was easy to set-up and test.
Made a few long distant phone calls to see if the calls were clear without static, etc which they were. People on the other end didn't know I was calling them with anything other than a landline. Tested all the other features such as callerID, call forwarding, call waiting and three way calling......all worked as they should.

I'm in the 828 area as well and chose to get a 704 AC.Max ODrive wrote: whenever they get the 828 Area Code in NC and I can get Charter Internet, Bellsouth can kiss my A$$!!
I'm also quite pleased with my MJ but have to say that I do get periods (minutes up to a full day) of choppiness that, when it happens, makes the MJ unusable. I've done all they suggest but the problem lingers.
Any suggestions on how to overcome this one problem area would be greatly appreciated.
