Wild Blue Dish Satellite

Post by adlevy »

Sorry if this subject has been discussed before, but I am new to this forum. I have Wild Blue Sat. and just installed magicjack today. When I dial a number the party I am calling is crystal clear but my part of the conversation is 99% unintelliable.

Does this mean that magicjack is useless for me? Is there anyway to correct this?

The magicJack FAQ says that MJ will not work on satellite. Too much latency.

Satellite is a killer for voip. I've heard a few have used Yahoo and Skype successfully, but even they are few and far between.
Windows Vista and Laptop with XP SP2 on the road. Occasionally, a Mac if my Windows machine isn't working.

I have tried lots of things to make VOIP work on WildBlue in the US. Nothing I have tried has been very successful. Their traffic shaping makes outbound communication unintelligible. Return your MagicJack for a refund, or offer it up on eBay.
