I saw a posting, *somewhere* in this forum, about the ability to run more than one MJ unit on a single PC. Notwithstanding bandwidth/CPU usage issues, does anyone have the details as to how this is done? I am fairly adept with registry/DLL's/processes and so forth.
The reason I'm asking is because if this has NOT been done already... I'd like to get to work on that myself.

More than one Magicjack on a PC

I am currently working on a project to do this via a simple server with 20+ MagicJacks connected to a Cluster of 7 port USB hubs then run the lines up and down the block that I am on. The test that we are running right now is how far we can run cable before signal quality drops, and we are waiting for a MagicJack to do the final test with. The main junction where we are wiring out from is more or less in the middle of the block. A Plus is that the phone and cable lines are on poles that run on the fence between the yards so we have a place to hang all the lines from end to end.
Now if this doesn't work out I have an alternative plan to doing this, placing patch panels and get pairs of USB to Ethernet converters run the cables un and down and I have a definite specs on the maximum cable lengths, 300 meters that's just under a box of 1000ft of cable. Then hide the MagicJack(s) in a utility box and wire the place afterwords.
Well thats all I can say for now.

connecting multple MJs and making concurrent calls on pc
Hi DragonMaster,
I am trying to get a set up similar to the one you described, albeit, with lesser lines (only 4 lines) Since you are going down this path before me, figure I leverage on your experiences... What would you recommend to be the best method to get 4 MJ devices working from a single PC making concurrent calls?
Btw, did your set up worked?
Regards,
Rafter

I'm not sure if DragonMaster is still here, but I am.
One of the problems I'm seeing when more than one MJ is connected is there appears to be an interference somewhere in that software dialer application. I'm going to diagnose this with a few tools here to see whats going on.

I looked at this briefly and looks interesting. I may give it a try. I'm used to using standard Microsoft tools for diagnosing what a program is doing, along with IDA Pro (an assembly language dissassembler). ProcessMonitor, FileMon and RegMon is what I'll eventually try on the software dialer to figure out why its "tied in" to just one MJ.
Someone suggested running in virtual machines; but the VM environment would need to have exclusive use of the physical USB jack on the PC. So lets say a PC has two USB jacks; each VM would be dedicated to each. The problem though with VM's is that they demand a significant amount of processing power.

Forget Sandboxie. I've determined that this was the problem with my previous Vista install causing dropouts on MJ every 10 seconds or less. I reinstalled my OS on my Dell Vista computer because of this problem and MJ was working great. Then I installed Sandboxie and then back to poor MJ performance. Then I uninstalled Sandboxie - and then MJ's working great again.
Too bad.

Do you have more than one MJ connected and working then?
