What are you talking about? MagicJack has nothing to do with television. Some means of viewing TV programs (satellite receivers, TiVo, etc.) require phone line connections and in some cases can work with MJ. Is that what you are asking?

Yes, you can move your magicJack to other computers. LOL, jackman, I'm glad you really didn't mean TV.

In most cases, you can use a splitter if you only need to use one at a time. Or, get a cordless system with one base and two handsets. If two people need to call at the same time you will need 2 MJs and 2 PCs.

Do you mean two phone numbers? Each magicJack is offering one phone number.

On one magicJack you can setup more than one phone to ring when the phone number of your magicJack is dialed by someone.

You can, but if the barn is within about 200 feet of the house, it's probably easier and cheaper to use a cordless phone system with two handsets.

MJ will work with "dry" DSL (without landline service). You can buy two MJs and use one in each building, but as I posted earlier, it is simpler and cheaper to get a cordless phone system with two handsets.

If your barn is too far from the house for cordless to work, yet your property is close enough to the city to get DSL, then IMO you are a rich man and don't have to worry about saving money with MJ ;)

I am far from being rich.I am on a fixed income,SS and a small retirement check.I just don't know anything about electric things.I will buy a 2 handset phone and cancel my local phone service. Thanks to YOUR KIND ANSWERS TO MY DUMB QUESTION.

IMO, you should verify that your MJ and phone system works reliably enough and with good enough quality, before you cancel phone service. Also, in many areas you must pay a premium for dry DSL; sometimes that's almost enough to cover a "low use" or "lifeline" phone line. Since you're retired, reliable access to 911 might be important to you, so you may not want to cancel the landline, especially if cellular coverage inside your home is less than excellent.
