need help

Post by cwbuckley »

I need somebodys help. I sure hate to get back in touch with mj tech support. I has now been around 30 hours since I changed my phone number from a 210 area code to my local 915 area code. My problem as I wrote yesterday is that I can't receive local calls on my mj phone. Thats 915 to 915. I can make calls without any problems. I also have no problem receiving mj call from outside of my local area code. Basically I was told that the problem was because I had not waited long enough for the new number to be activated. I was told to wait for about 24 hours. The mj people had me do the magicfix, a number of times. Unplug the phone from the mj and try placing a call to my mj number. Switching usb ports. When I call my mj number, I get a tone and then a message that at this time they can not complete my call. I sure would appreciate anybodys help. MJ doen't do me much good if I can't receive calls on it.

You must call the landline or cellular company and tell them that you are having trouble calling a certain number. They can usually fix it within a day or two.

The problem arises because the MJ exchange code is newly assigned, and the carriers have not yet programmed it into their switches.

Well, the good news is I can call my mj local number using my landline. I still can't use my cell to call my number. If what you say is true, would you not have to call every carrier that can't complete the call.

In theory, you're right. The 'good' news is that you're not the only one with this problem, so someone else will soon do the complaining for you. If not, the lazy bums will eventually update their databases, when they get around to it.

I just wanted to thank you for your help. I think over all I am pleased with mj. In fact I think I will soon be doing away with my land line. I know that it will cost me a few dollars more a month to have a naked dsl. However I will be saving about 15 a month on my land line. I have a metered line. At least now I will not have to watch my out going calls. Again thanks.
