check non magic jack voice mail through magic jack softphone

Has anyone tried calling there old phone voice mail before being discontected and found if you dial the area code plus your old number you get some stranger, but we still have ourandline and that works. It's only when going through the dilapad on magicjack I get someone elses message box on my number.
