Attention upgrade but nothing happens.

Post by dab »

I've had this attention upgrade in 60 seconds logo on my screen most of the day and nothing appears to have happend and I can't make any calls. I have dial tone but the calls won't connect. Also, I have tried magicfix in the past and when I click it again nothing seems to happen. Any help would be great.

Thanks.

If you go to http://my.magicjack.com/ and log on with your email address and password then you will see a link at the bottom of the page for online one-on-one "tech chat" intended to discuss technical issues. It's available only during certain hours.

I have the same issue with mine, was working fine for a week, now this. Also when I first plug it in, the app won't load and I eventually get the splash screen that says you must plug the device into a USB port, I have to unplug and replug to get it to launch, but it doesn't connect now.

Well no answers but at least I'm not alone. I also notice that when using the softphone in the box above the "END" and "SEND" buttons it flashes with "Waiting for proxy registratio" the rest is cut off. It appears that magicJack doesn't think the computer is connected or that the application can't connect. Hopefully someone here can help, if not it'll be tech chat on the day before Christmas.

Thanks,

Where do I find the Vista upgrade and are there any special install steps or is it just a click and run executable?

Thanks.

For any other slow ones out there, from the main page select customer care at the bottom of the page and then you'll see a big button that says Vista. I have to wait to test this as the PVR that it is connected to is watching Jack Frost :).

Finally did the download (which I had trouble getting, it kept clocking but each time I started again it kept adding to the temp download file that had been started). This fixed the problem. I'm running XP and not Vista.

Did the same thing when I downloaded it, kept cancelling and restarting and got it after 4 or 5 times.

And keep it handy once you download, you'll probably need it again. My MJ was dead when I got home tonight, no light, no dialtone. when I unplugged and plugged it back in, it tried to do an update and failed and gave me a message to call tech support. Had to reapply it to get it working again.
