MagicJack rocks on Windows XP!

Post by jamz1074 »

Ok, I was ready to give up on my MagicJack when I had it hooked to my Vista, I pulled out my old Windows XP and hooked it up to that and it worked great!! I had my caller ID and could answer my phone and it was clear as could be! I now have another issue, I had to restore my XP and once I did that I have this box that pops up saying there is no sound, I was told I have to download the sound motherboard but I can't find my disc anywhere and I can't find it on the internet, anyone have any idea where I can get it? I have a compaq Presario and went to that website but it was no help to me! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I did 4 magicJack installs all on various versions of XP and everyone of them lost the sound. To get the sound back on do this

Windows XP:

1. Click Start

2. Click Control Panel

3. If your Control Panel is in Category View, double-click Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices

If not, go directly to the step 4

4. Double Click on Sounds and Audio Devices

5. Click the Audio tab (the middle one)

6. Under both Sound Playback and Sound Recording, select your default audio device (the one you want to use) from the drop down menu

* Never select Tigerjet as your default device

7. Click the box labeled Use Only Default Device" (located in the bottom left corner of the window)

8. Click Apply and OK
