MagicJack not working?

Post by Crowbar »

This is my first MagicJack. I plugged my phone into the MJ, then plugged it into the PC. THE LED light turns on (it's blue) and then it starts recognizing the hardware in my bottom right hand corner. (XP SP3) Then it prompts for drivers, and since I don't have any (it's flash based, I assume it's supposed to install with insertion?) I click no. Then it doesn't install properly.

Is there a driver or does anyone have advice for getting my MJ set up for the first time?

Go to the following site:

http://www.magicjack.com/1/customercare.asp

Click on:

"have Vista" and downlod the upgarde and install. Make sure your magicJack is plugged it.

This works both for XP and Vista.

gary,

That is the new driver as of today, have you been able to make it work? It doesn't work for me. If I install it I get an error message "can't find any audio devices".

Gary,

Sorry - I am so caught up in the thin client thing I was thinking Thin Client and assumed that everyone knew what I was thinking. God help me.

It works fine on my XP laptop and I can confirm that it does fix the touch tone problems on automated systems. Stroths tried it on his bank and it worked and I tried it on the Costco Warehouse system and it worked there.

Again sorry for not making my post more clear.
