I tried to renew my MJ account but the link was to an unsecure page. I did not feel comfortable entering cc info on a page that had no encryption or security. I tried to "chat" with billing but it kept linking me to the magic fix page. Magic fix would run and say all was okay. If I clicked on the live chat it just ran magicfix again. I clicked on the returns link and it too wnet to the magic fix page and ran magic fix again.
I looked through my old emails and found the email address "[email protected]" so I sent them an email requesting a phone number or some secure way to order my renewal. I got an auto response saying the email address is no longer valid and a link to a "new" customer support page. When I clicked on the link guess what happened? Right it ran magic fix.
I would like to keep the service but I have no way to pay for it. I am not sure how they will stay in business if they can't securely accept payments. I get the impression that no one is home. Signs of impending doom for MJ? I hope I am wrong but seems there are some serious issues or I am just very unlucky. (as an FYI I have tried using firefox and IE with the same results.)
thoughts? suggestions?
Is MJ going out of business??

I don't think that they are going out of business just yet; they just have terrible customer service. The unsecured site is weird, but I just grit my teeth and entered my virtual credit card number and hope that the Russian Mafia doesn't get around to distributing it till the end of the month
If they don't secure that site, I'm not sure that I'll be ordering in the future.

Bad (actually, atrocious) customer service has become the norm. I have a premium voice mail service I use for business. Had to call them because my wallet was stolen and they are set up on automatic billing. Sticking a pencil in my eye would have been less painful.
Same thing with Bank of America. When I called them to report the stolen cards, I was disconnected three times while on hold. Get used to it; I don't think things are going to get any better.
At least with MJ, you know you aren't paying through the nose.

Just as an update, i found an email address for Dan and got this reply. Not sure about the part of the site being secure but not set to notify the browser that it is a secure site. At any rate it is now secure but I used a one time use cc anyway. Below is the response I received.
Hi Joe,
The site is secure, we did just not have it set to notify the user of this. We have now done this and if you log into my.magicjack.com and go into renew your license you will see that the site says secure.
Thank you,
Richard
