best online fax services
Dear Community
I need your help finding an online fax service "efax" type. I need it cheap but most of all reliable. If any of you subscribe to one of those can you leave some comments.
thanks

Has anyone had luck forwarding a local MJ # to a free efax line or to other non-local fax numbers? I can forward to a real fax machine but not to efax.

I pay $12.95/month and gives me unlimited faxes in and out
no contract plus you can bulk-fax 5000/time
go there to check it out
if you use this link and sign up I will get some credit (that would be great but it s up to you)

Hi magicjack6666,
Thanks for the tip about onefax, I will look into it. I'm still on my first month free with myfax, and so far have not gotten to the 100 page outgoing limit. Now that I have already given out my new fax number, I'll have to consider if it is worth the hassle of making the change. One problem I ran into before was trying to send a fax to a Canadian 1-800 number, they would only accept faxes originating from a Canadian area code, so I'm not sure if they would accept one from a toll-free number.

hi couch-potato
If I understand you correctly you have trouble sending a fax from U.S. to 800 in Canada. I'm in the US if you want to give me one 800 in Canada I will try it with onefax and let you know.
Take care

Thank you for the link on j2.com, since we can send faxes perfectly find through the magic jack but not receive them no matter what we've tried, we were looking for a cheap or low cost service just to receive our faxes, and it seems that j2.com's free inbound faxes right to my mailbox is perfect for us and especially since it's free. If they ever drop the free inbound accounts then I'll have to look at paying a monthly for another services inbound, but until then j2.com has worked great through all my tests this morning other than one time when my fax machine didn't wait long enough through the voice mail announcement and hung up the phone, but upon it's automatic redial attempt it sent the 3 page document through fast and clear.laserjobs wrote:Jconnect from j2 has a free receive account

Plus I actually like the J2 messenger as it allows me to annotate notes onto the fax, and other manipulations.
I'll be testing them out for reliability for the next week or so.
You're able to send faxes perfectly with MagicJack? Really? Please share how you've done this.City Builder wrote: Thank you for the link on j2.com, since we can send faxes perfectly find through the magic jack but not receive them no matter what we've tried, we were looking for a cheap or low cost service just to receive our faxes, and it seems that j2.com's free inbound faxes right to my mailbox is perfect for us and especially since it's free.
I have sent a couple of faxes this way, but generally numerous retries were required. I can just imagine if the recipient had a conventional paper fax machine they had a pile of partial faxes piled up from me.
I did find the sight of the MJ dongle in the USB port of my laptop, connected via a short phone cord to the RJ11 jack of the very same laptop to be rather amusing though.
As for receiving faxes, I use k7.net which works fine. As I only receive faxes occasionally, it posed a problem as they'll re-assign your number after a month of inactivity. With the first fax # I had with them, I had to inform a law firm that the privileged correspondence they were sending wasn't going to the intended recipient. Then I lost that same number a short time later.
So to ensure that I have a reasonable chance of keeping the replacement number which appears on my business cards, I did some Googling to find a free weekly fax mailing list, which goes straight into my junk folder. A bit of a messy hack to be sure, but it works.
TrustFax.com
Hi Everyone,
I have had TrustFax.com service for several years. I get incoming faxes in my email (also stored on the server for retrieval), and I can send via the web site by uploading a word, pdf, or several other formats to the server and filling in the info needed to send.
Several plans are available, including their new Power plan at $29.95/YEAR.
I got in on this service early, and still have my $10/year (plus $0.10/page) rate. No problems with the service yet.
Just one more option to consider.
