Jack won't break dial tone

It worked perfectly for 3 days, then it decided not to recognized touchtones entered from any phones connected to the jack. Softphone calls work fine. Incoming calls are fine on the phone devices, but you just can't dial out. Ideas? Magicjack is sending a replacement device. Their tech support was lousy. I work in I.T. and none of the two persons I chatted with at their site were savvy at all.
