So I received my MJ last Thursday, but have not had time to set it up until today.
I have it set up on a dedicated PC.
FIC Falcon CR53
Via Nehemiah 999Mhz CPU
256MB Ram
20GB HDD
52X CDROM
Windows XP Home
I have one account created that just logs itself in by default. I also have the machine set up to re-boot itself (using tsshutdn.exe) every night at midnight.
The computer re-boots itself to the desktop even with the MJ plugged into the USB port (I disabled the ability to boot from the USB ports in the bios).
I am only testing the unit at this point and opted for a Buffalo, NY phone number. If all goes well then I will be canceling all my TW services except Turbo Road Runner.
That will knock my cable bill down from $205/month to $54/month!
I haven't really done anything special to the PC to make the MJ work. I just plugged it in and IT WORKED!

First call went to voice mail after one ring, second caller said they got a busy signal, third went to voice mail after two rings.
I think many MJ issues & problems are related to the general load of the internet and the Wi-Max gateways.
Voice mail system sounds choppy at times also.
I'm not so sure of that. I have three magic jacks that, at one time or another, I've installed on 5 different computers. Even when it's the same type of computer (an HP t5720 thin client), I found that two MJs installed flawlessly on 2 t5720s, but the third t5720 was a struggle. On the other hand, my Vista Business laptop, which has a gazillion drivers and non-standard software on it, handled the MJ without the slightest problem. I have a feeling that very minor differences in connected hardware and/or installed software can make a huge difference in the performance of the MJ and whether it will install at all.
However, all three MJs are now working perfectly -- one on a t5720 at work, one on a t5720 at home and one on my Vista laptop. Voice quality, even over a Verizon wireless card, is as good or better than my land line, I have no problem with incoming calls and only rarely experience a barely perceptible echo. The only problem is that everyone at work thinks I'm odd because I have a telephone connected to "that little computer" on my desk.
