Hello!
Can anyone help me with getting my Magicjack to even work?
I have spent hours on this thing plus a few hours with MagicJack's tech support
and still no resolution.
I am on XP home edition
DSL connection 1.5Mbps
I have Norton Internet Security, the newest edition.
I have a Uniden EXI8560 phone
I have a dialtone, but no sound after I dial a number.
The phone number I dial does not ring and I cannot receive any calls incoming.
I have gone through live chat with MagicJacks Tech support and they claim to have
refreshed on their end and to no avail for me.
They cannot find what my problem is.
I have tried disabling firewall and antivirus and it still does not work......
What else can I do to resolve my problem of a non working MagicJack???
Non working MagicJack with no resolution...yet Need help!

UNABLE TO SWITCH BETWEEN HEADSET AND PHONE
My unit worked the first night and has not since, that was a week ago
I get dial tone, dial......then nothing.
Had tech support... all they did was placate me with reboots and downloads and a lot of irritation.
I found on the soft phone there is a place to change from headset to telephone. My unit will not allow me to change between the two. I also get a pop up telling me I do not have a Headset/mic installed. this is correct because I am using a telephone.
Still trying to figure out a fix.

if you have a phone properly connected there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to switch to telephone. Unless your installation is corrupted. If thats the case I'd suggest deleting your magicjack folders from your documents & try reinstalling. You might also try uninstalling the unknown device USB port that magicjack uses & then refreshing device manager to reinstall it. If all else fails try making a fresh 2nd windows installation install your internet connection & audio drivers on it & then see if you can get it to work on that new installation. If it works there but not on your original OS then try upgrading the 1st windows install or start over fresh.
UP AND RUNNING
I am not sure what went wrong but I installed my MJ onto a laptop with a direct connection to my router. Everything installed and I am now sending and receiving calls.
Thanks for all the info. If it means anything I think you were right with your idea about it being corrupted.

wireless adapters
I found Wireless adapters like linksys and belkin installed on a desktop PC WILL interfere with the magic jack. Might work the first couple of times, then nothing.
