Broken up audio Tuesday?
I've had Magicjack for about two weeks now. It has worked fine until today. The audio on about half the calls was very broken. Anybody else have this problem Tuesday? I've measured my ISP's ups (11M) and downs (1M) speed with normal latency, etc....same computers, etc...all the same here...maybe Magicjack growing pains? Then on about the other half of the calls, it was fine with no broken audio.
Choppy audio
Same thing happened to me all day Tuesday on every call and is still happening this morning. Dial tone sounds fine, but when it rings it's choppy/broken and gets worse when the person answers. Conveniently happens when there's nobody home at MagicJack to call/chat with Hopefully it will get fixed today.

Re: Choppy audio
I've only had my MJ for a few days and I'm already getting real tired of this mess.Delavan wrote: Dial tone sounds fine, but when it rings it's choppy/broken and gets worse when the person answers. Conveniently happens when there's nobody home at MagicJack to call/chat with
I just received my MJ about two hours ago and since trying for the first time the audio has been choppy. I've only tried calling my voicemail and every time the audio gets choppier as the call goes on. Seeing that I am a new user perhaps there are a number of possible reasons, but i am hoping that it is not a problem on my end and would be very interested to know how many other people have been affected. I registered with a Seattle (206-479) prefix and am calling from Germany...

That's the way it seems to work. Some calls are ok, but then the next call will be choppy or it's fine on one end but not the other. I think there are is a port range that needs to be forwarded but still investigating it.Noah wrote:Well after trying a few more times i got one clear call, so i know it is possible for me, but the next call was just as choppy as all of the others...

For what it's worth my MJ has worked fine in southeastern PA. I only made a couple of calls yesterday and today, but the quality was OK. One call was for 55 minutes. There was a slight echo on my end on a couple of the calls (already using the TJNet LEC), but NO disconnects. I am on 6M/768K Earthlink ADSL.
I don't use my MJ for incoming calls, as my number isn't close.
I wish you all good luck in fixing this problem.

Choppy audio again!
Here we go again. MagicJack wasn't working today and now tonight the choppy audio is back. I'm just getting so sick of this crap! Almost every day there's a problem and I'm getting tired of doing the MagicJack dance... unplug, end the process, plug back in, no success, now yank it back out, reboot the pc, plug it back in, say a prayer, utter a curse, etc. It's quickly getting to be more of a hassle than it's worth, even at only $20/year. I went for a long time without any problems. Now it's an every day occurance. If I performed as poorly as the MJ folks apparently do, I would have been fired a long time ago. This thing is little more than a toy at this point.
Update: Well, I managed to get it running again. We'll see if it lasts thru the night without croaking again....
