I found some of these Linksys/vonage PAP2's on sale. Will they work with the MJ? How do I know if they are locked or not and how hard are they to unlock/setup? They are brand new, unopened. I don't want to buy one if it won't work.
Thanks

Re: Linksys PAP2
First "LaserJobs" has really answered the question - But you are not making the Vonage unit work with MJ unit but instead of. After you have acquired the information that LaserJobs has referred to which is an effort that only a few elite Geeks know how to do. You then take that information and put it into the Vonage Machine. If they are not locked and it works for you then take your MJ unit and put it in a draw some place, it is not part of the process any longer.packen wrote:I found some of these Linksys/vonage PAP2's on sale. Also keep in mind that this process is a complete violation of your contract with MJ and they could get very upset and do terrible nasty things to you. A big danger here is I am sure they can tell when it is an MJ unit connecting to them or a modified Vonage unit, but I can almost guarantee that if you inadvertently plug them both in at the same time they will come down on you almost immediately. It is akin to duplicating a SIM card, the first time you fire them both at the same time the Cell providers computers will nail you before you can blink and probably lock both SIM cards.
I am not a do-gooder, honest John type of guy and have been know to pull a sneaky now and then but this stuff your are talking about, like the SIM card, is just a way of begging for trouble.
All the do-gooder stuff out of the way - "Good Luck" on your adventure.

Well I searched and tried different ways but can't seem to find the way to get the SIP info I need, so I guess I will give up on that project. I just thought that since the PAP2 was so cheep, it might be worth a try.
Anyway, I have ordered a ipaq computer and will set my MJ up on that and get it off my main pc.
I really wasn't trying to go against the MJ TOS, I read about people doing those things and want to try to see if I can do it also. I guess it's the geek in me. It's not so much about using it as it is being able to get it to work.

Do those PAP2s have letters after them?? like NA or version 2?? Id like to have one if you can point me to them..I want one for using with the Suite Advantage and I kinda like them over the sunrocket 2102s..I would be interested if they are the PAP2 NA..Other than that, they will be locked and a pain to open
Thanks
