Another Soft Phone?

Post by mjmark »

I know there has been some threads about using the MJ service through different hardware, Old vonage box, etc, but I'm interested in using the MJ service purely as a softphone without the USB dongle. I Don't care about the analog phone port, I just need the softphone portion.

Any ideas?

You could try http://gizmo5.com/ if you can find out your MJ's SIP info. I'd like to find mine to use MJ over my Nokia N800.

I'm perfectly happy with sticking with the MJ softphone, I just want to avoid the dongle.

Ummmmmmm ............ The dongle is where it all happens..........

You need the dongle ..........

The dongle needs you ............

Without the dongle, you have no phone..........

The dongle is all ...............

You must have the dongle ..............

You need not plug anything into the other end ............

Or you could pug your printer/fax into the dongle for faxing ........

The dongle LIVES ............

Use Counterpath/Xten softphone. Xlite, Xpro, or eyeBeam. Calls seem to work fine, but I haven't tested much else, feature-wise.
