anybody else having trouble w/ magicjack today

mine is not working has been working so far with no problem just curious if it s only me ?

I got mine yesterday - worked great. Now it isn't working.

I get a dial tone, but when I dial out, there's a brief period of silence followed by a dial tone. Very frustrating. The soft-phone doesn't work either.

But it might be MJ network problems as when I call my number, I get the "Cannot be completed as dialed" message on both my cell phone and SBC land-line.

To complicate matters, before I noticed this problem, I unplugged my MJ and plugged it into my kitchen computer (XP Pro SP2) so I could impress my boyfriend on how kewl MJ is. I noticed this dial-tone issue down there. Possibly noteworthy is the fact that the kitchen computer did have another MJ - my sister's - on it last week. I thought that perhaps this could have caused a conflict. I then gave up down there, and plugged it back into my computer (Vista Prem SP1) and I continued to have the same issues - just a dial-tone. I don't know if MJ worked right before that.

But since I cannot call my number from outside - that makes me think the problem might be on MJ's side.

Any insights? I thought I'd ask because I gotta go to work now, and I can't contact their chat support site at the moment - will have to do this now. But from what I've heard - this site might be the best support options for anything but a replacement.

Yes, I cannot make calls today. However, I can receive them.

OK, it's finally working again! It must have been a temp. phone server thing. I hope!

I take that back. I can make calls, but through SBC at&t I get a rapid busy signal, and through Verizon wireless I get an "All circuits are busy" message. But my cell can call my land-line and land-line to cell.

booya are you saying you can make outbound calls using the MJ but no inbound ?

Yes, I wasn't able to make any calls in any direction via MJ, but now I can calls out from the MJ but no calls into the MJ.

you mention that you just got yours it s a bad start. I have had mine for month and rarely had any problems. It has always work fine. The audio is not perfect but for the price it s really good. in fact I sent quite a few to friends and family outside the US and they are using it every day no PBS. hope that ease your frustration In my opinion it s well worth it

I can now make outbound calls again. MJ network must have fixed their little problem.

I don't remember when I had a problem with MJ last time - must have been at least several months - but today only every 2nd call I make or receive is successfull. On half of the calls I either could not hear the other party, or the other party doesn't hear me, or call doesn't connect at all. This happens with incoming and outgoing calls as well. MJ definitely has issues today...

I can make outbound calls now but inbound seem to be going right to voicemail.

OK, it's now working both ways!

It must have just been a glitch - unrelated (hopefully) to me trying it out on another computer.
