MJ / YMAX just added the 757 area code, and I was finally able to switch from the 703 area code I had been using for over a year with NO problems. Incoming and Outgoing calls worked just fine- albeit I had an area code that was not local. Now that I have switched to a local area code, I have had nothing but issues.
Certain people WITHIN my area code cannot call my MJ number. They receive a recording stating "that the number cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and try again." They are using every possible dialing combination, yet they still receive the same recording.
To make matters even more confusing, my MJ CAN call OUT to those numbers- those numbers just cannot call my MJ. The numbers that cannot call my MJ belong to Sprint. One of the numbers is MY cell phone. Meaning, I cannot call my own MJ!
I have been on with level 1 three times, and level 2 twice now. I have even called Sprint and opened a trouble ticket. MJ blames Sprint, and Sprint blames MJ / YMAX. It was suggested that it is a "switching issue" whether YMAX has not updated their databases or "notified" Sprint of these NEW numbers or exchanges, or Sprint hasn't updated their databases with the new area code and exchanges I don't know. As I stated.. these are brand new exchanges within the 757 area code.
Any ideas on what to do or who to contact? I've had it with tech chat- they are useless..... and the issue has STILL not been resolved. I can't get anyone to help me or give me an answer.
Certain numbers WITHIN my area code CANNOT call my MJ.

I have similar problem.
My MJ was working perfectly 3 months. After major break down in MJ Server 0n July 20 afternoon My MJ stop recieving calls for ONLY some local area phone nimber including my land AT'T phone number amd my relative living in the next to my building. I do not have problem to call this phone number, BUT when they call to my MJ phone number, they recieve
busy signal or massage "We are sorry all circuits are busy now. Would you please call later".
Next day I call costumer support, after that was directed to Level 2 after that the problen was escalated to the Engineering Department. The same day in the evning the problem was fixed, BUT the hext day happend the same.
After that I call again to the costumer support, after that was directed to Level 2 after that the problen was escalated to the Engineering Department and again the problem was fixed by the Engineering Department in the evening, BUT next day in the moning for third time again the same problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After that I was waiting 5 days hoping the problem will be fixed, BUT Nothing happend.
On July 28 I call again costumer support, They try to convinse me that the problem is inside AT'T provider.
After explanation to the costumer support that the problem is in the Magic Jack server and the problem was fixed 2 times and again the problem exist, the costumer support directed my problem to Level 2 after that the problen was escalated to the Engineering Department BUT this time the problem was NOT FIXED. Now I have to call again to complain.
The problem is inside the Magic Jack Server. Every call wnich is made by the MJ and is recieved by MJ MUST go throght MJ server and over there is realy mess and nobody is carry about the problems because the problems are thousend and thousends and the Engeneering staff is very limited and without enough money resorces they can not do any thing good to improuve the service and to fix all problems.
Any way, for 20$ per year what do you really expect ??? To have good service ??? No way !!!

Yep. I have been escalated twice to level 2 and both times they said they would notify the engineers and get back to me... As of today the problem still persists.
I know I shouldn't expect much for $20, but I should be at least able to call my own MJ number- and people within my own area code SHOULD be able to call me. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

UPDATE
I actually got a call back from Sprint engineering the yesterday. They confirmed that it was indeed a switching issue and that the call was being terminated before it got to MJ. I don't know what they did to fix it, but I can finally call my own MJ number from my Sprint phone. I remember the engineer saying something about "re-routing"....
I'm just happy to know that someone finally listened to me, and that it wasn't just in my head... there was indeed a problem.
