*67

I've seen posts about using *67 as part of the number when you're dialing out using MJ.
However, i've seen two variations posted and would like to know if there is any difference between the two.
Is one better than the other, etc... I google'd *67 and the text spoke about it being used to block caller id. info. from being sent.

Variation #1: Phone number is: 123-456-7890 You would dial: *671*234567890

Variation #2: Using same phone number: You would dial: *671234567890

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Variation #1 eliminates the echo many of us have as well as inability to reach certain numbers because of broken routes

I've never seen Variation #2 but I did just try it with a 718 number. Variation #1 eliminated the echo when I called. Variation #2 did nothing. I believe that with a "real" phone company, *67 simply turns off caller ID.
