International Calling Rates ****Beware****
The international calling service is a rip off. It was advertised that calling Mexico City (Mobile) would cost .03 cents per minute. They actually charged us .30 cents per minute, the highest known calling rate for Mexico. Perhaps this was a mistake on their part, but there was no phone number or email address on their website to get this rectified, only a mailing address. NOT COOL!

On the international dialing rates page at magicjack.com, it says that calls to Mexico (52) are 9 cents per minute, except for mobile numbers there (521) which are 30 cents per minute.
I can't swear with 100% certainty that the rates presented there haven't been revised recently. But I do recall that, when I looked over the rates shortly after buying $10 of international time a few weeks ago, I thought it was kind of ironic that calls to western Europe POTS were in the 2 to 3 cents per minute range, but those to Mexico POTS were considerably more expensive. And of course, calls to mobile phones would be expected to be even pricier.
When I make international calls, just before the call connects I get a message which states how much prepaid time I have left. For example, with a full $10 balance, if I dial somewhere that costs 2 cents per minute I'll hear "you have 500 minutes of time remaining" just before the phone rings; if it's 3 cents per minute, the message will say "you have 333 minutes remaining"; etc. Did you get a message like this with your call to Mexico? And if you did, were the number of minutes remaining consistent with a rate of 3 cents/min or 30 cents/min?

Weird! I just had another looked at the rates on http://www.ymaxcorp.com for Mexico and It states ".3" cents per minute. I must admit, I am a bit confused by this as both my wife and I confirmed it was three cents per minute prior to buying the credit, then again prior to making our first call as we were shocked when the auto-recording stated that we only had 17 minutes of talk time. Since I never complained to http://www.ymaxcorp.com, I would have to say that this was most likely our fault in reading it incorrectly.
However, I do think it's inappropriate that http://www.ymaxcorp.com does not at least provide a simple email address to contact them for concerns or issues. I hope they are making plans to change this soon. Snail mail is far more expensive for them to handle, and they know it.
