Changed my phone number using the portal and now no incoming

Post by dssman »

So I changed my phone number on the portal to a local one. I can make outgoing calls and the caller id gives the new number. Incoming calls to the new number rings my phone, but I get dead air. Incoming calls to my old number works.

Any advice on how to fix this? Yes, I've unplugged the mj several times and I ran the magic fix.

I would give it a day, mine did the same thing. Also there could be a glitch somewhere because the old number forwards to the new one for 30 days.

Give it at least few hours and even days -- and you may still have certain providers/area codes that give you a problem Inbound or Outbound; but it should resolve ...

With MJ's patience is definitely a virtue.

If after 48-72 hours you can't get ANY Calls, then I would be concerned.

Still no incoming calls this morning. Strange thing is, my mj phone does ring, but instead of dead air, I heard another person in the middle of what sounded like another phone conversation.

It has happened twice; once yesterday (i thought it was a fluke) and again this morning. Two different people.
