My name is abdelaaziz tissire, i both my second mjck on 12/31/07
it was working fine until week of Jul 24, 2008 when i received a warning message "" you must plug magicjack into usb""
since that day and i am trying to get somebody to help me fix it. talking to a dozen of tech and superv. online support , i was told each time that it will take 24 to 48 hours to get my replacement. and that after trying all kind of troubleshooting.
the 24/48 hours are now 2 months. and did understand why all promised failed, today as i am speaking to yet another "superv" which concluded that i am not illegible for replacement and he got no explanation why all others tech. support were wrong, beside that " that is why you received it ". i am chocked by all this upside down none sens maneuvers to drive away costumers. i am attaching some of my 100 lines conversations with different tech and hope that someone with resolve this matter with me and puts is to sleep.
Regards,
abdel

warning message "" you must plug magicjack into us
Have only seen a few post placed with this problem and have not found anything that had a good solution to this problem.
I have an XP with SP2 operating system.
I was having the same problem. When looking at my "My Computer" when things were working correctly, I would have MagicJack (E:) and MagicJack (Vista Only) (F:) When things went wrong E: would become just a cd-rom drive. (Sometimes it would not even show up as a drive at all but you could see it if you used computer management from the control panel.
What I did to correct the problem was to right click on it click properties and then hardware tab then YMAX MagicJack USB DVD/CD-ROM click on uninstall driver. The next time I rebooted XP (without unplugging MagicJack) went through a new device routine and I had everything back and working again.
I knew the problem was with the computer because I had another computer the same MagicJack worked on without a problem. So somehow the driver had become corrupted somehow. I have many flash disk and other usb devices and always using my usb ports. I have had similar problems with USB not assigning a drive letter that has turned out to be registry problems, which can be very complex to correct without reloading.
Also found out that spam and viruses cause me a lot of problems with call quality issues with MagicJack and Skype so I use free software Spybot, CCleaner AVG ani-virus Software.
Would like to see more post about this problem and how others has corrected it.

Re: warning message "" you must plug magicjack int
I have had this happen a few times. When it does I get redirected to MJ web page after the message. I just close that page and then go to the MagicJack Icon on the desktop (I think the newest version Icon says "CD Drive" but it's Icon is still a thumbnail of the softphone) once I double click that icon it loads up MagicJack as it should have to begin with and on the next reboot MagicJack gets loaded automatically again as it should.abdel wrote:My name is abdelaaziz tissire, i both my second mjck on 12/31/07

you must plug magicjack into usb
VaHam
I tried going to the MagicJack Icon on the desktop and clicking the icon as you said but nothing would happen, The only thing was I would go back to the same message "you must plug magicjack into usb" Then sent me to the web page. I did reboots, unplugged MagicJack plug it back in. I had MagicJack plugged into the back of the computer with nothing else plugged into the computer. It always saw the F: drive for the Vista Only but nothing would work with the G: drive that was needed for XP. It sounds like even though things were not correct with you, your computer was was still able to communicat somehow with XP and or the drive. Removing the so called CD-ROM and letting XP reload the driver for the MagicJack that I went through in my last post was the first time I had been able to get MagicJack to work correctly for a while. So far so good.
Thank you for the reply.
