Let me start off by saying thank you in advance.
I haven't been able to get the magic jack working since I received it in the mail a week ago. Here's an outline of the problem and what I've tried to fix it.
Problem: There is no audio on either end of the call. I can hear the numbers dial fine (on a phone and through a headset) but I can't hear the person on the other end, nor can they hear me. This happens for outgoing calls and incoming calls.
What I've done:
1. I've tried headset and telephone with and without the following: firewalls, routers, wireless, LAN, and virus protection. None of that has made a difference.
2. Set all of the proper permissions to my USB drive in the registry.
3. Erased all traces of the magic jack in the registry and elsewhere and tried to reinstall
4. Downloaded DivX
5. Downloaded the upgrade provided to me by MJ tech support.
I'm running Windows XP professional with SP2 on an IBM T42.
I read through some of the fixes on here but my problem seems to be a bit different.
