The problem is with my computer being able to run the device. A little background: my Toshiba M200 Tblet Pc with XP runs MJ just fine - 100% good. My self built P4-2.6Ghz running Vista Business Ed. will not run MJ hardly at all.
Both systems are running mostly the same programs-AVG, ZoneAlarm, etc
Here is the details of the problem I get with my desktop PC, and every time I plug it in there is a slightly different problem:
1) Says not plugged in, so i try again,
2) I call it from my cell phone, then it hangs up on me without ringing.
3) It rings and when picked up i can only hear one side of the conversation, in other words MJ side can be speak but cant hear the other person
4) It finally works, but then is choppy and cuts out most the words so you cant hear much of anything
5) If all finally works, and i wait a bit to call it from my cell or work phone, it wont ring through or starts one of the mentioned problems above.
Not sure if anyone can help, think it is something with my PC but tracking it down is a needle in a haystack.
Thanks in advance to any help you can give, hate having my laptop tied to the desk with MJ all day.

Have you applied the "Have VISTA" upgrade found at http://www.magicjack.com/9/customercare.asp
Rachula,
There is a guy on eBay that is selling a couple of T5700s for $119 - that should solve your problems.
And no it is not me selling them, I don't sell T5700s anymore, I don't like USB 1.1 ports they are just to slow for me. But they work fine with MJ.

Already have applied the Vista upgrade, and it like i mentioned, it works occasionally.
I really dont have the extra money (and my wife would kill me) to buy a new laptop just for this.
Just having trouble pinpointing the problem as to why it wont work on my desktop.
Programs usually running under Vista:
1) ZoneAlarm - given all access
2) AVG Antivirus
3) Windows Sidebar - occasionally running
4) Normal boot Vista services.
Dont know if there is much help for me aside from reformatting and see if that fixes the problem, or reformatting with XP to see if that works, or myabe run Virtual PC 2007 see if it will run in there.....hmm...
Thanks in advance again for any info you can get to help.

Have you tried:
1) Plugging the MJ directly into your USB port without using the extension cable? I believe plugging the MJ in directly eliminates some electrical resistance that comes from the extension cable. This should supply better power to the MJ and increase it's stability.
2) Giving MJ's running process higher priority?
Also I have found if you are plugging the MJ directly into the USB port ... you must make sure it is FULLY inserted. It will seem like it's fully plugged in and you will hear your system detect something plugged in/blue light will come on, but it will not start up. It takes a bit of force to push the MJ all the way in.
Later on I will boot up my VM running Vista Ultimate and see if I can determine some other possible tweaks that would help.
Also I don't believe you can run with Virtual PC due to lack of USB support in that particular program. At least I couldn't get it to run. You may have better luck in VirtualBox.
